A self-proclaimed “antifa hunter,” who once threatened to sexually assault the autistic daughter of an anti-racism protester, was sentenced to more than three years in prison on Monday, according to the Associated Press.

In addition to admitting to the threat, Daniel McMahon, a 32-year-old white nationalist from Florida, reportedly pleaded guilty in April to a slew of charges regarding his cyberharassment—including the cyberstalking, bias-motivated intimidation, and interference with a candidate for elected office—of Don Gathers, a Black man running for city council in Charlottesville, Virginia. The harassment was so bad that Gathers, who is also the leader of Charlottesville’s Black Lives Matter chapter, eventually exited the race, according to Insider.

On Monday, McMahon’s victims remotely shared their statements through video conferencing. According to a statement by the mother of the autistic minor he threatened to sexually assault, McMahon “cultivated a culture of fear and chaos” in her network of anti-racism activists.

The woman, who the Associated Press did not name, reportedly called federal prosecutors after McMahon’s arrest, which took place in September of 2019, to report the cyberstalking and harassment he had sent her way. He reportedly sent her hundreds of Facebook messages, including how he would sexually assault her autistic daughter. He also reportedly threatened to post her daughter’s picture on a social media platform used amongst the far-right, Gab, and googled “sex with autistic girls” on the day before his arrest.

“There is seemingly nothing that Daniel McMahon will not do in the name of white supremacy,” the woman said in her statement.

McMahon decided against giving a public statement. He was sentenced to three years and five months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. During those three years, he will not be allowed to use the internet unless he gets court approval.
