Doja Cat just revealed she was diagnosed with—and has since recovered from—COVID-19 months after mocking people who were afraid of contracting it.
Doja Cat, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, made the revelation during an interview on Capital XTRA Friday.
“I got COVID. Honestly, I don’t know how this happens but I guess I ordered something off of Postmates and… I don’t know how I got it but I got it,” she said.
Doja Cat said she is OK now but experienced symptoms for four days.
In March, the artist downplayed the severity of the coronavirus, likening it to the flu on Instagram Live. “I’m gonna get corona and then I’m gonna get a Corona, cause I don’t give a f*ck about corona, bitch. It’s a flu!” she said at the time.
She reiterated she wasn’t scared of the coronavirus and called those who were “p*ssy.”
‘I’m not scared. Y’all are p*ssy, period. You just take some Mucinex and drink water and tea and sleep—that’s all you gotta do. Y’all are so scared of some damn corona. Y’all are so scared of corona that I need a Corona,’ she continued.
