We just want celebrities to stop singing to us and posting words of encouragement attached to selfies. Ryan Reynolds, along with wife and actress Blake Lively, is one of the few celebrities who seem to be handling the coronavirus pandemic in a non-celebrity way.

The couple recently donated $1 million to food banks in America and Canada. Reynolds also is donating 30% of Aviation Gin proceeds to bartenders out of work due to the virus. And now, Reynolds has given us an epic coronavirus video message mocking other celebrities’ responses to the pandemic.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau started the #plankthecurve social media challenge to promote social distancing and adherence to COVID-19 related health measures.

Many Canadian celebrities answered the call, but it was Reynolds’ satire-filled message that became a Twitter favorite.

On Monday evening, the Deadpool actor tweeted a video message with the caption, “Another important message from an important celebrity. Let’s spread the word not the virus.”

In the video, Reynolds scoffed at the idea that celebrities should be counted on “in times of crisis.”

“I think, in times of crisis, I think we all know that it’s the celebrities that we count on most. They’re the ones that are going to get us through this,” Reynolds joked. “Right after healthcare workers, of course. First responders. People who work in essential services. Ping-pong players. Mannequins — they’re great. Childhood imaginary friends, sure. Like, 400 other types of people.”

Reynolds then ends his minute-long video on a more serious note.

“Look, stay at home. Practice social distancing. Wash your hands,” he said. “We are going to get through this thing. We are going to get through this thing together.”

Many on Twitter thanked Reynolds for taking the time out to share the “hilarious” and important message.
