People tend to show their true colors when placed under pressure—especially celebrities. The spread of coronavirus and subsequent self-quarantine has produced a wide range of responses from actors, singers, and athletes. Thankfully, New Girl and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse star Jake Johnson has gone the benevolent route.
Johnson, who voiced Peter B. Parker in Into the Spider-Verse, announced on Instagram this morning that he would dedicate some of his free time to sending in-character voice messages to fans of the superhero flick.

“Since the quarantine a lot of parents have DM’d me saying they’ve been watching Spiderverse with their kids. A lot,” he wrote. “So, here’s my idea. If your child is home from school and wants a quick encouraging message from Peter B Peter [sic], then send me an email with their name and I’ll try and send over a short voice note. If I don’t get to you, I apologize.”
Johnson ended his post with the hashtag #stayhome, imploring people to observe proper social distancing practices. Lucky for superhero fans, Netflix has plenty of superhero movies to choose from, including Into the Spider-Verse, The Dark Knight, and Avengers: Infinity War.
