The fate of Coachella is still up in the air after the county the festival’s held in confirmed its first case of coronavirus, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Officials said they still haven’t decided whether or not Coachella will be canceled, but some locals have voiced concerns about the possibility of the event leading to an outbreak, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The coronavirus patient in Riverside County is now in isolation and officials are investigating whether the person had close contact with others. In the meantime, the county has “declared a public health emergency.”
Although the coronavirus is a very serious illness, Twitter users still found room for memes about a possible Coachella cancelation.
Coachella wouldn’t be the first massive entertainment event to get canceled over concerns of a coronavirus outbreak. SXSW in Austin was canceled earlier this week for the first time in 34 years.
“We are devastated to share this news with you,” SXSW said in a press release. “‘The show must go on’ is in our DNA, and this is the first time in 34 years that the March event will not take place.”
