The final Lord of the Rings film may have been released in 2003, but the trilogy is again bringing joy to millions—even if it is at the expense of one Snapchat user’s long-suffering girlfriend.

Some mischievous boyfriends have previously found minor Internet celebrity by repeatedly terrifying their partners on camera, but a prankster has now taken the phenomenon to its logical conclusion by swapping out surprise shocks with surprise Lord of the Rings quotes—and lots of them.

At work, in bed, “even on holiday”—the impressions are unceasing, prompting some occassionally crude (and fully justified) responses.

The clips are recorded on Snapchat, the YouTube uploader says, and sent to the boyfriend’s friends, whereupon one of them decided to start saving them for posterity.

The boyfriend’s impressions are actually pretty decent—which we hope will be some small consolation when his partner inevitably leaves him for someone whose life goal isn’t to join the Rohirrim.
