It’s 2020, and girls on the internet no longer want boyfriends (or cars and money). Instead, according to the newest Twitter meme, girls want to date celebrity icons from singer Zendaya to actress Margot Robbie.
The viral meme starts like this: “Girls don’t want a boyfriend, they want…” and ends with a popular female that everyone dreams of dating. Regardless of sexuality, many can relate to the meme that leaves boyfriends in the past.
“Girls don’t want a boyfriend they want Scarlett Johansson and Margot Robbie,” @russianwidsw tweeted.

The girl-power meme would be incomplete without Zendaya in the mix.
“Girls don’t want a boyfriend they want Zendaya and Ana De Armas,” @auntiedyke tweeted.

Some Twitter users in the comments said that the tweet hypersexualized the minors.
“Girls just want to be girls. Stop hypersexualizing them,” @thekimcatcher replied.
