The final four of Liga MX Apertura will be decided this weekend, with the first match being No. 2 seed León hosting No. 7 seed Morelia. The first leg in Morelia on Wednesday was a wild 3-3 draw, and León is a club on a mission after winning the top seed in 2019 Clausura but losing in the Liguilla final against Tigres.

León vs. Morelia: What to watch for

León (recent form: DWWWL) has been on a tear in 2019. La Fiera finished 1st in the Clausura and 2nd in Apertura. But a loss in the Clausura final against Tigres has left León without a trophy, and finishing second this time around won’t be acceptable. León’s aggressive playing style will suit the club will over the next three weeks as it looks to mitigate its regrets from back in May.

Morelia (recent form: DLWDW) is certainly the underdog in these playoffs, after besting traditional powers Cruz Azul, Chivas and Pumas to get into the top eight. Without a true superstar and a mid-season coaching change, Monarcas have been surprisingly good playing as a unit. Morelia will be disappointed with allowing three goals at home on Wednesday, but the 96th-minute equalizer it created to seal the results gives fans hope  cling onto.
