Bretman Rock is in mourning. Earlier this month, the beauty vlogger’s father died, and the YouTube star returned to the Philippines to lay his dad to rest. Apparently fans won’t leave him alone.

On Thursday, he asked his supporters for privacy during this difficult time and bemoaned the fact they’ve been asking for photos at inappropriate times. Like at his father’s funeral.

“Can people just let me be sad for [once]….” he wrote on Twitter. “I’m here in the Philippines for my dad who just passed, don’t come to my house and ask me for pictures … So many people showed up to my dad’s funeral uninvited and started taking pics of my dad and my family … Like why? It’s common sense.

“I just don’t understand why people think it’s okay to ask me for pictures when my eyes are literally swollen from crying … how you you (sic) gonna say, ‘condolences, can we take a picture?’”

On Instagram, he has 13.8 million followers, and on Thursday, he documented himself with tears in his eyes because, as he wrote, he wanted “to remind y’all that it’s okay to cry … bad bitches can cry too.”

This certainly isn’t the first time a social media star has had to implore fans to stay away from their most private moments. When the father of the Dolan brothers died in January and hashtags like #SeanDolanMeetUpParty and #seandolanfuneralparty began showing up on Twitter, Ethan and Grayson Dolan had to ask fans to stay away from his funeral.

“If you are a fan of Grayson and I, we love you and appreciate you so much,” Ethan Dolan wrote on Twitter. “The best way you could support us during this tough time is to NOT show up at our father’s wake or funeral. thank you guys and please please please respect my wish.”

Last December, beauty vlogger James Charles said he felt “unsafe” after his home address leaked online and fans began showing up at his house to ask for photos.

“Please stop showing up at my house,” Charles wrote. “I will not hug you, I will not take a photo with you, and I absolutely will not sign your palette. It is extremely disrespectful & makes me feel very unsafe in my own home. Respect people’s privacy, it’s really not that hard.”

Bretman Rock would certainly agree with that.
