Hooper—who goes by @mother_of_daughters on Instagram—came forward to being the face behind the username “Aliceinwanderlust” on the forum Tattle Life after a fellow internet personality called on the anonymous bully to come forward.

“Dear Alice, I don’t owe it to you to remain quiet. You’ve goaded and encouraged trolls to tear my reputation apart for the last 8mths,” wrote the Instagram account @that_mummy_smile. “This is your time to come forward and start doing the right thing by everyone that is affected.”

According to Fox News, the account would attack fellow mommy bloggers, including people Hooper had pretended to befriend in real life.

In a series of Instagram stories, the 34-year-old who has nearly 700,000 followers said she was “deeply sorry” for what she did.

Hooper said she created the fake account after she saw internet trolls harassing her and her family.

I thought “maybe I could change their opinions from the inside to defend my family and I,” she wrote.

“It became all consuming and it grew bigger than I knew how to handle,” she said. “When the users started to suspect it was me, I made the mistake of commenting about others. I regret it all and am deeply sorry—I know this has caused a lot of pain.”

According to the Telegraph, she once used the account to call her husband “a class at t**t.” Rumors eventually began circulating Hooper was the poster, especially after the account made a reference to being in the Caribbean at the same time as the blogger.

Hooper’s husband—an internet sensation in his own right and person behind the account @father_of_daughters said he was “sad and angry” and had no idea his wife created the fake account.

“Despite what happens on social media—on this platform or any other platform the real world keeps continuing,” he said an Instagram video, according to Daily Mail. “The world keeps spinning, my kids need to be entertained and the dog needs walking so that’s what I’m doing.”
