A Texas A&M University-Commerce homecoming party ended in unspeakable violence when an unknown assailant opened fire on the event on Sunday.
The off-campus party was apparently not sanctioned by the University and took place at The Party Venue in Greenville, Texas, about 20 miles away. Reports indicate that two were killed and 14 more injured. As of right now, the shooter remains at large and no motive has been released.
The Texas A&M-Commerce University Police Department tweeted, “There has been no active shooter situation in Commerce. There was an event outside Greenville, TX that may or not have involved students at this time. Further information will be posted when known.”
A graphic video that recorded in the aftermath of the shooting has been circulating on Twitter and Snapchat, sparking outrage over the decision to record and publicly share the bloody scene. The video shows the bodies of victims covered in blood, and screams can be heard as attendees try to run to safety.
“Oh my god!” a woman can be heard screaming as the camera pans. The Daily Dot is not publishing the video.
“Just seen that Texas A&M Commerce video on my timeline and people are truly fucked up in the head. To have that type of scene in front of you and your first thought is to not help… but to casually video everybody’s body and all the blood on the floor,” Twitter user @chubbsss wrote.

Others are sharing similar sentiments.
“This new generation is different. Who sees their peers bleeding to death and decides to catch a pic or vid for some clout instead of lending a hand? Weak and lame. Delete and report those Texas A&M Commerce/Greenville videos y’all,” Twitter user @LondonTrades wrote.

Bruh that commerce video hit my TL and my mind couldn’t even comprehend that it was real at first. Like shock. The video was sickening and shouldn’t have been posted.

RIP to the babies who lost their lives tonight. Damn.#PrayForCommerce
Some argued that the video should be removed from the social media platforms.
“To those who are uploading the video of the Texas A&M University Commerce shooting, stop and think about the victims. They shouldn’t be remembered as lifeless bodies covered in blood. Please remove the video from this platform & any other social site. PLEASE,” writer @ShakariSBriggs argued.
