Reddit has crowned 26 new front-page subreddits—the forums all new redditors are subcribed to.

It’s a pretty big move. The number of default forums has now doubled, going from 25 to 50.

Default subreddits make up the majority of the social news site’s front-page content. Links submitted to these default communities typically result in significant traffic to a site.

So which lucky subreddits have suddenly gone mainstream?

A few Reddit favorites, like remix hub r/photoshopbattles, female-friendly r/twoxchromosomes, and lifehack depot r/lifeprotips, share space with the weird-news community r/nottheonion and confessional support group r/TIFU (Today I F**ked Up).

Gone from the front page is r/AdviceAnimals, home to some of the Internet’s favorite memes.

“It’s time to shake up the defaults again!” Reddit community manager Alex Angel (cupcake1713) said in a blog post. “In the past we’ve just swapped out one subreddit for another, but this time we’re going to try something different.”

So far, the additions have been received positively by at least one moderator from the existing default subreddits.

“I did not see this coming, like at all. I love some of those subreddits and I’m very interested to see how the new status affects them,” he said. “This is huge and ultimately I think it will be very good for reddit.”

The addition of this subreddit comes 27 days after administrators removed r/technology from its list, following moderator drama.

On April 14, two redditors discovered that moderators—volunteers who can ban users from a forum, hide content, and set their own rules—were using a bot to censor headlines with words like “Bitcoin,” “Snowden,” and “Obama.” On April 17, administrators stripped r/technology of its default status.

The last time Reddit administrators added new defaults was in August after r/politics and r/atheism were removed over moderator drama. That new batch of subreddits included r/booksr/earthpornr/explainlikeimfiver/television, and r/GIFs. At the time, this was the most default subreddits added at one time.
