President Donald Trump lashed out at a decision handed down by the Supreme Court on Thursday that halted his administration’s goal to have a citizenship question as part of the 2020 Census.
The president said it was “totally ridiculous” that the administration may not be able to list the question, which has been criticized for potentially leading to an under-count on the extremely important system of counting people in the country.
He added that he has “asked the lawyers” if he could delay the census.
“Seems totally ridiculous that our government, and indeed Country, cannot ask a basic question of Citizenship in a very expensive, detailed and important Census, in this case for 2020. I have asked the lawyers if they can delay the Census, no matter how long, until the…..,” Trump wrote on Twitter on Thursday, after the decision’s announcement. “…..United States Supreme Court is given additional information from which it can make a final and decisive decision on this very critical matter. Can anyone really believe that as a great Country, we are not able the ask whether or not someone is a Citizen. Only in America!”

Trump wasn’t the only one who was peeved at the Supreme Court decision.
Matt Schlapp, a conservative activist and lobbyist, called for the impeachment of Justice John Roberts, who sided with the liberal wing in the court to tilt the Supreme Court’s decision on Thursday.
“I’m for impeaching the Chief Justice for lying to all of us about his support of the Constitution. He is responsible for Robertscare and now he is angling for vast numbers of illegal residents to help Dems hold Congress. Enough Deception from GOP judges on the Constitution,” he wrote on Twitter.
