We’re now just one week away from the much-anticipated release of Call of Duty: Ghosts, the latest in the Rated M for Mature (Blood, Drugs, Death, etc.) video game series that’s been barging through the doors of gaming systems since the fall of 2003. By now, the promo is in full force.
Yesterday, game developers announced that Snoop Dogg—team captain of rap’s eternal gangster dogghouse—could be the man speaking through your spizzle dizzle (speaker, dogg!) when a new customizable narration feature becomes available for Xbox Live on Tuesday, April 22.
In the video promotion posted onto Call of Duty’s YouTube page yesterday, Snoop said that he was excited his “voice can be connected” with a game that’s both “so hip and so hood.”
It includes soudbyte teasers like “Rack up points by reaching the enemy portal, ya dig?” and “Homie’s out the joint. It’s party time.”
“I think the writers did a good job on creating lines for me, specifically for me,” he said. “They knew my flavor, and they allowed me to do my thing and put a little Snoopism on it.”
We’d imagine that means allowing him to say “Crizay.”
Snoop Dogg faced two murder charges for the shooting death of an alleged gang member in 1996. He’s changed a great deal over the past 18 years, becoming everything from a Rastafari to a porn savant to a mascot for Reddit nation. Through it all, he has never left doubt about his eagerness to monetarily capitalize on any type of perception or characterization surrounding him.
