Between Facebook‘s acquistion of Oculus VR, the Candy Crush company’s IPO, and Twitter’s celebrity tweet meltdown, there’s been a lot of Internet-related uproar going on today. Not to be outdone, Instagram went ahead and released some long-anticipated business stats.

Instagram announced early Tuesday afternoon that it has more than 200 million monthly active users. That means that over the last six months, the photo-sharing app has added 50 million monthly users. It’s a mind-boggling statistic, but for Instagram, it’s par for the course. The app has grown at an astounding rate since it launched, and nothing has slowed it down.

Despite being acquired by Facebook and adding advertising partners, users—celebrity or regular—have not curtailed their use. As of late January, the app was growing faster than Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest combined

And it looks like nothing will change that anytime soon. It’s Instagram’s world; we’re just living in it.
