Despite their storied club histories, Tottenham and Manchester City are charting unfamiliar territory when it comes to glory in the UEFA Champions League. Neither English side has won the competition, and everything is up for grabs when the two meet on Wednesday for a ticket to a wide-open semifinal. With a cable or streaming live TV login, watching TNT online will be a piece of cake. If you’ve cut the cord like me, well, things get dicey. With Tottenham clinging to a 1-0 lead after an emotional upset win last week, and mighty City facing relentless pressure to dispatch the underhanded opposition, the stage is set for one of the best offensive-minded teams in the world to throw the kitchen sink at one of the best backlines still standing. Here’s what you need to watch Tottenham vs. Manchester City online for free.

Tottenham vs. Manchester City: Why it matters

Friends, I’m taking a half day of PTO to watch this one. In the spirit of full disclosure, I’m a blog-scouring, scarf-hanging Tottenham fan, and I love our matchup. We spent the past calendar year not buying free agents and losing Harry Kane to ankle injuries, but that’s made the boys resilient and united. Fans were sure we’d lose Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose to bigger clubs last summer—Kyle Walker to Man City-style—and they’re still here and playing key minutes for Mauricio Pochettino. Alderweirald and Belgium World Cup teammate Jan Vertonghen are still anchoring the back line another two months? That’s experience and security we can count on. Without our star striker Kane, Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura have become lethal attackers who can slice with speed on the counter. That’s where we’ve got a shot to turn the 1-0 advantage into a back-breaking away goal. Plus all the pressure is on City, the best team in Europe per the analytics, to not blow this one. As they say: Come on you Spurs, love the shirt, to dare is to do… just hang on.
