When Game of Thrones season 8 starts on Sunday, so, too, will the ritual of going over to the apartment of your one friend who has an HBO subscription. One service, called Spoiled.io, seeks to punish those who flake on the weekly tradition—or any of your enemies—by anonymously sending out spoilers for the newest episode.
“Do your friends love Game of Thrones, but watch it after it airs? Are you a terrible friend? Great!” Spoiled.io’s website says.
The service began in 2016 after the developers were inspired by a Reddit post detailing the revenge tale of an ex-girlfriend scorned who proceeded to spoil the show to her ex through any means available.
Spoiled.io anonymously and automatically texts out spoilers concerning the latest episode as it airs. Those who fall victim to the service won’t know who prompted the text being sent, as the messages aren’t sent from your phone number.
Spoiled.io costs $0.99 per episode and is particularly vindictive since you can see the responses from the people you spoil. You can also view the responses from all the Game of Thrones fans who become Spoiled.io’s victims via this Twitter account.
Game of Thrones returns April 14.
