This weekend, NASCAR is Las Vegas-bound for the first of two playoff races in the Pennzoil 400. Since 1998, this 400-mile races has been the proving ground for many stock car champions, from legend Jeff Gordon to four-time winner Jimmie Johnson.
For the first race of the Monster Energy Series, cars will use tapered spacers to reduce horsepower and aero ducts to help ensure the tightest race possible. In a city built on odds (and occasionally breaking them), the money is on defending champion Kevin Harvick—though six drivers are sporting 10-1 odds or better chances of winning as well. Those numbers may fluctuate throughout the weekend, as drivers test their wheels on intermediate tracks at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
