Pinterest can be a dieter’s nightmare, full of perfectly lit photos of the delicious desserts you swore you’d try not to eat this year. But a new feature on virtual pinboard site could actually help you get back on track.

Food is one of the most popular subjects on Pinterest, so it should come as no surprise that its first new feature of 2014 is focused on helping foodies. Now you can search for recipes on Pinterest, and even filter by specific ingredients. Usually every pin that features those terms will show up, but now you can choose an “all recipes” filter to narrow it down.

You can even use categories like vegetarian, gluten-free, and paleo to further narrow your results. Want to go vegan this year? Pinterest has a filter for that! (There’s also a filter called “Indulge me” that will only display the sweet recipes, if you want help throwing your New Year’s resolutions out the window once again.)

Considering how many people use Pinterest to find and organize recipes, this will make the site even more helpful to one of its strongest user bases. Recipe search makes it much easier to find food that fits your lifestyle if you already have something in mind. And if you don’t, you can just input any odd leftover ingredients you have lying around and find something to make with them.

Over the last few months it’s become clear that Pinterest isn’t wasting any time in making its most popular sections even more attractive to users. Place pins, introduced last fall, are being used in a number of creative ways in the popular travel category, helping pinners locate exactly where all those beautiful travel photos were taken. Rumors this week also indicate that the visual nature of Pinterest might be getting more animated soon, as the site explores how pinned GIFs can play in your feed instead of remaining as static images.

The new recipe feature is currently available on the Web only, but will roll out to Pinterest mobile apps soon.
