Bless Chrissy Teigen once again for smashing stigmas and bringing adorableness to the internet. People are sharing photos of their infants in helmets in response to a photo of Teigen shared of her six-month-old son, Miles, in a little head-shaper of his own.
Teigen shared the photos in a tweet thread yesterday:
baby miles getting fitted for a little helmet today for his adorable slightly misshapen head. so if you see pictures, don’t feel bad for him because he’s just fixing his flat and honestly he’s probably gonna be even cuter with it somehow

The helmet is used to treat the “flat head syndrome” or “plagiocephaly,” which occurs when a baby’s head develops a flat spot. It can be caused by a tight neck muscle that keeps the baby’s head in the same position, or if a baby sleeps on their back or in the car seat in the same position for a long time. It can also be seen in premature babies whose skull bones may be softer. Usually, babies wear them anywhere from two to six months.
In recent years, parents have found ways to make wearing a helmet exciting for the children, such as painting it or, in the case of this mother, using it to make their child a fellow minion:

Teigen’s tweet had more than a thousand responses as of Tuesday morning, most of them from parents and grandparents sharing photos of their baby in customized helmets:

Teigen has used her platform before to share other motherhood stories like postpartum depression, and it looks like baby Miles is already adding to her legacy of starting conversations.
