Nearly two years after its launch, Nintendo Switch fans think YouTube will launch on the console this week.
Nintendo of America visitors reportedly stumbled across a YouTube app suggestion under Switch games’ “you might also like” recommendation section, according to a thread from gaming forum Reset Era. Screengrabs of the app’s appearance suggest YouTube is coming to Nintendo Switch on Thursday, Nov. 8, just in time for the weekend.
Nintendo has since taken down the “you might also like” section from its website, so at this time, it’s impossible to replicate the supposed leak. But it seems obvious Nintendo is hiding something from fans if it’s willing to remove an entire section reportedly responsible for an app leak.

While Nintendo rounded out the Switch’s library throughout 2018, the console notoriously lacks social media, streaming, and video apps. Japanese video service Niconico was the first video service to hit the Switch in July 2017, followed by TV streaming service Hulu that November. Since then, Nintendo has not introduced any other video apps, including fan favorites like Twitch, Crunchyroll, or Netflix. Others demand social media applications like Discord and Twitter for the service, which would round out the Switch’s versatility as a gaming console.
