Last month, Sony unveiled the PlayStation Classic, a tiny PlayStation 1 emulator packed with 20 iconic games from the console’s library. Now, we know the full PlayStation Classic game list. Gear up for every single game coming to the PlayStation Classic once it launches on Dec. 3.
For those who are unfamiliar, the PlayStation Classic comes with two controllers, an HDMI cable, and a miniature chassis, all for just $99.99. It mirrors Nintendo’s NES Classic and SNES Classic, two incredibly popular emulators packed with classic 2D Nintendo hits from the ’90s. This time around, Sony fans can expect a wide range of games from its PlayStation 1 library, from cult classic titles like Intelligent Qube and Jumping Flash! to some of the console’s biggest influences on the gaming world, including Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy VII, and Metal Gear Solid.

3) Destruction Derby
Ah, 1995’s Destruction Derby. This racing game has a place in practically every PS1 gamer’s heart. Published by Psygnosis and developed by Reflections Interactive, players compete against one another or a computer AI while racing across tracks, smashing against one another along the way. There’s also the titular Destruction Derby mode, where players crash into each other until the last person standing wins.
4) Final Fantasy VII
Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII is the definitive JRPG on the PlayStation 1 and a welcome addition on the PlayStation Classic. The game single-handedly sparked plenty of players’ interest in Japanese role-playing titles, and it remains one of the most popular installments in the Final Fantasy series to date. If there’s one reason to grab the console, it’s Cloud Strife’s journey through Gaia, with all of its heart-wrenching twists and turns.
5) Grand Theft Auto
Before there was Grand Theft Auto V’s sprawling 3D open-world setting, there was DMA Design and ASC Games’ 1997 hit Grand Theft Auto. In this game, players complete mission after mission, pushing their way through the criminal underworld and killing plenty of cops along the way to the top. This game introduced all three iconic cities from the Grand Theft Auto saga: Liberty City, Vice City, and San Andreas, modeled after New York, Miami, and San Francisco, respectively.
6) Intelligent Qube
Epics and Sony’s 1997 game Intelligent Qube was one of the most popular 3D puzzle games in the PlayStation 1’s history, and to this day it has a cult following among hardcore Sony fans. Players work to remove enormous cubes from a floating platform while avoiding being crushed to death or falling off. It’s addicting, to say the least.
7) Jumping Flash!
Exact and Ultra’s 1995 first-person platformer Jumping Flash! was one of the very first PlayStation 1 games available, and it was praised at its time for its then-advanced graphics. While its first-person platforming gameplay may not be the most exciting, Jumping Flash!’s historical value alone makes it an incredible addition to the PlayStation Classic.
8) Metal Gear Solid
Before there was Kojima Productions, there was Metal Gear Solid. Often hailed as one of the greatest games of all-time, 1998’s Metal Gear Solid revolutionized the action-adventure genre and showed that video games could tell cinematic stories while still being incredibly fun to play. If there’s one reason to pick up the PlayStation Classic, it’s this.
9) Mr. Driller
Namco introduced Mr. Driller in 1999 as a frantic puzzle game where players drill through blocks while trying to keep their air supply alive. Interestingly enough, the game’s main character is Dig Dug’s son (or Taizo Hori, for those familiar with the lore).
10) Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
Oddworld Inhabitants and GT Interactive launched Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee in 1997, and the platforming game quickly took off thanks to its immersive world and engaging puzzle gameplay. 12) Resident Evil Director’s Cut
Yes, the 1997 Director’s Cut edition of Resident Evil is coming to the PlayStation Classic. The Director’s Cut changes up the game’s handgun, offers a new beginner mode, and places the title’s items and enemies in completely new places compared to the original game.
13) Revelations: Persona
Arguably one of the most surprising additions to the PlayStation Classic, Atlus’ Revelations: Persona is the first entry in Atlus’ Persona JRPG series. Built as a spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei series, Persona follows a group of high school students who use their psychological manifestations of themselves, or their Personas, to combat demons ravaging their hometown.
14) Ridge Racer Type 4
Namco’s 1999 hit Ridge Racer Type 4 remains the definitive Ridge Racer release to date, making this a welcome addition to the PlayStation Classic. Race against other cars in Grand Prix mode or go against your friends with over 300 cars to unlock and drive.
15) Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Capcom’s cult classic Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is a puzzle game that pits players against each other in tile-matching gameplay. Characters from various Capcom fighting games go head-to-head against each other in the middle of the screen as players try to keep their play section clear of blocks. Whoever fills up their screen first loses, ending in a K.O. for their fighter.
16) Syphon Filter
Eidetic and 989 Studios’ third-person action-adventure hit Syphon Filter is a PlayStation 1 classic and one of the most popular titles from the console’s history. This game merges stealth combat with a 3D world where players have to silently (or not-so-silently) take out their opponents across myriad missions. Along the way, the game features various puzzles to solve and a graphically impressive world to explore, making this a treat for PlayStation Classic owners.
17) Tekken 3
Namco’s 1998 3D fighting game Tekken 3 wasn’t the first 3D fighter available on PlayStation 1, but it was easily the most popular. Often hailed as one of the best fighting games of all-time, go head-to-head with your friends or beat up the AI when the PlayStation Classic launches with this hit pre-loaded.
18) Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six
Red Storm Entertainment impressed the FPS world with its tactical shooter Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six in 1998, and the game returns to the PlayStation Classic this holiday season. Carefully plan out and execute assaults on armed terrorists by choosing your operatives, loadout, entry points, and waypoints in the game that kicked off the Rainbow Six franchise.
19) Twisted Metal
Sony’s 1995 vehicular combat title Twisted Metal introduced one of the most iconic multiplayer series in the PlayStation 1’s history. In Twisted Metal, players fight against each other with guns, rockets, and more across myriad vehicles. Drive a crazed clown’s ice cream truck or zip through a level in a high-speed motorcycle; the choice is yours. As far as multiplayer PS1 games go, this one can’t be beat.
20) Wild Arms
1997’s JRPG Wild Arms was the first role-playing game released for the PlayStation 1, and it kicked off an incredibly popular ’90s and 2000s JRPG series that spanned five installments across both the PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2. This game merges a Wild West setting with an enormous medieval fantasy world, throwing players into an epic story and engaging 3D battle system that influenced the genre for decades.
