Jerome Corsi, a right-wing conspiracy theorist, has been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury by special counsel Robert Mueller as part of his ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Corsi is required to appear before a federal grand jury in Washington D.C. on Friday morning, according to his attorney.

A former associate of InfoWars host Alex Jones, Corsi has authored several books in support of far-right conspiracy theories and was D.C. bureau chief for Infowars in 2017, a position he no longer holds.

In 2011, he released Where’s the Birth Certificate?, a book championing a racially-charged smear to delegitimize former President Barack Obama by alleging he was not a U.S. citizen.

According to his attorney, Corsi will now “cooperate fully” with the so-called deep state he rages against, which is apparently aiming to detail his ties to the president’s controversial former aide Roger Stone.

Stone has come under increased scrutiny over his election-time interactions with transparency organization WikiLeaks and Guccifer 2.0, an alleged hacker that Mueller claims was a front for Russian intelligence services meddling in the election. Both entities published emails and information stolen from Democrats that would severely damage the party’s presidential campaign.

Stone denies wrongdoing or foreknowledge of the leaks, but in recent emails to supporters said that he expects Mueller to try to indict him.
