Like the arc of most steamy office romances, the fate of career-oriented sexworking site Bang With Professionals seemed sealed from the get-go.
The site’s anonymous creators revamped their homepage this morning to announce that the LinkedIn–Bang With Friends hybrid could no longer be the one-stop source for professional hookups, unfortunately. The “two guys” behind the operation cited a revoking of LinkedIn’s API key as the reason for the shutdown.
“We all knew it was only a matter of time,” they wrote. “Don’t worry, your data was safe all along. We just deleted all of the user IDs and the only thing that will be left is this landing page.”
Bang With Professionals lasted for a little more than one week, drawing 73,281 unique visitors to the site in the process. In that time, introduced a “let them know they are sexy” feature that functioned somewhat like a poke on Facebook. A recent blog post let on that BWP’s most popular cities were London, Berlin, and New York City, three booming metropolises full of hornballs with great résumés.
The site’s operators haven’t gotten back to us about whether or not they were ever able to hook two professionals up for a night of steamy, pencil-skirted fun say they’ve hooked up more than 200 couples! They also report a number of good laughs for just $57—most of which went towards stock images of people in professional clothing getting it on atop a wooden desk.
Anybody interested in purchasing the bangwithprofessionals.com domain—like, I don’t know, maybe someone who wants to start a weird work-related porn site—can email the “two guys” at info@bangwithprofessionals.com.
