A conservative pundit took to the airwaves on Monday to spread the false claim that the “B” in LGBTQ stands for a secret gay agenda of bestiality, and not for bisexuality.
Fox & Friends alumnus and failed California state congressional candidate Star Parker went on evangelical radio show Vocal Point to discuss her column in which she compared Pride Month to Kristallnacht—you know, when Nazis terrorized and killed nearly 100 Jews. As if that was not ridiculous enough, Parker set her eyes on the LGBTQ acronym, going insultingly letter by letter. “We did the ‘L’ and the ‘G,’ they legalized marriage for themselves,” Parker said, mischaracterizing the 2015 Supreme Court decision that resulted in the federal legalization of gay marriage.
“We doing the ‘T’ now—the trans—and this is a big, big challenge in our society right now,” Parker continued. “They did the ‘Q’ where they’re changing all the textbooks, even as low as kindergarten, to reflect that you don’t know what you are, you’re questioning.” This language is familiar to those in the LGBTQ community, as it essentially faults them for desiring acceptance as they navigate their sexuality. The “Q” also, more often than not, stands for queer.
“But notice they skipped over the ‘B,’” Parker continued, apparently not understanding that same-sex marriage lets bisexuals get married to their same-sex partners as well. “There are some that say this ‘B’ is going to bombard us with real vileness in our society if they get what they want,” she continued, “because it’s not about bisexuality, it’s about bestiality.”
When asked for clarification by the host of the show, Parker said they didn’t know what the B stood for, but also said, “We do know that there is an agenda and we do know that there have been discussions about bestiality in their closed doors. I’m just saying don’t be surprised if we find out that that ‘B’ is not what they said publicly.”
It’s not the first time conservatives have trotted out bestiality as an eventuality if LGBTQ people are fully accepted by society, as though queers are just sitting around plotting nefarious ways to be sinners. Members of the LGBTQ community and their allies are speaking out against Parker’s wild speculations.

While Parker may not be sure what the B stands for, it seems the world at large is very certain, and they’re ready to stand with bisexuals against such attempts to discredit the movement for LGBTQ rights.
