The president is on a four-day political visit to the country and was climbing the red-carpeted steps of Blenheim Palace on Thursday evening, where a black-tie dinner is set to take place in Trump’s honor.

As the pair walked ahead of their two spouses, May offered the president her arm and he grabbed her hand.

May and Trump were famously mocked in January 2017, during the prime minister’s visit to the White House, when the two first awkwardly held hands.

Understandably then, Twitter immediately lit up in response at Thursday’s repeat incident.

On Friday morning, the two world leaders will meet to discuss policy and trade. Trump arrived to mass demonstrations protesting his visit.
