Meet MJ Hegar. If you’ve never heard of her, after watching her new campaign ad, you may never forget the name. Yes, it’s that good.

Hegar is running for Congress as a Democrat in Texas, against incumbent Rep. John Carter (R-Round Rock). Her ad discusses, as a woman in the military and Purple Heart recipient, all the doors she had to break down to get where she is today. One of those doors included Carter’s: Despite her being a veteran who lived in his district, Hegar says he refused to meet.

That stunning accusation, as well as the well-crafted art direction helped the video rack up over 1.8 million views in the week since it posted.

“I think that part of the reason it’s been so well-received is because the message resonates with people,” Hegar said to CNN. “A lot of people across the country feel like they have absent representation and that their voices are not being heard.”
