Time to crack open a bottle of Peeno Noir and toast to the end of an era.
Netflix announced this week that the upcoming fourth season of Tina Fey‘s series The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will also be the show’s last. The comedy that introduced the world to Tituss Burgess and had “females are strong as hell” right there in the theme song has garnered four Emmy nominations since its 2015 premiere, but it appears the time has come to say goodbye.
Unlike previous seasons, which were released all at once, season 4 will start with a six-episode initial drop May 30, with the rest of the episodes to follow later in 2018.
After four seasons and over 50 episodes, Kimmy has accomplished a lot during her run. She’s graduated from being a mole woman rescued from a cult leader’s secret bunker to becoming a full-blown New Yorker, complete with an eccentric roommate, confusing landlord, and narcissistic boss. What more could a gal taking college classes dream for?
Ellie Kemper, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski and Carol Kane will reportedly all return for the final season.
