Tyra Sanchez, the season 2 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has found herself in hot water after posting a vague threat against the 2018 edition of RuPaul’s DragCon.
Sanchez turned to Facebook on Tuesday morning with the supposed threat, writing “DO NOT attend RuPaul’s Drag Con on May 12, 2018. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

It’s unclear if Sanchez is serious about carrying out any actions against the convention or its fans. However, the post follows shortly after she threatened to violently attack fellow drag queens Phi Phi O’Hara and Tatianna, after which the convention banned her until she issued an apology.
Sanchez has since refused to do so, criticizing DragCon and saying it overreacted “because of some drag queen drama.”

Sanchez has since faced criticism for being insensitive amid ongoing mass shootings in America, especially in light of an image she posted from earlier this month showing the Los Angeles Convention Center exploding.

Sanchez previously criticized RuPaul’s Drag Race and its fans for elevating white queens while treating queens of color with dislike, a point echoed by activists critiquing the show’s handle on race. Some fans speculate that Sanchez’s behavior, while extreme, may reflect mistreatment she’s experienced over the years for being a popular Black queen.
