In YouTube Right Now, the Daily Dot looks at videos that catch our eyes, push our buttons, and move our dials—and that you’ve just got to watch. Right now!
Free agent defensive tackle Anthony “Spice” Adams has called all 32 teams in the National Football League. He’s called all 30 in Major League Baseball. He’s called record executives. He’s called Dancing with the Stars.
But Anthony “Spice” Adams can’t do anything to get himself a job.
Now, the newly minted YouTube funnyman has a new idea. He’s going to train his 310 lb. body for the 2016 Olympics. But he’s not training for some stereotypical big man sport like weightlifting or judo wrestling.
He’s going to train that body to compete in gymnastics.
“I’m talking floor exercises,” the former Chicago Bear explains. “I’m talking about rings. I’m talking about pommel horse, rhythmic gymnastics. Oh yeah, rhythmic gymnastics.”
That’s where the fun begins. The next four minutes is a high-end promotion, sometimes slow-motion showcase of Adams doing his best McKayla Maroney, shaking off a set or rings and swinging around a pommel horse like he’d been trained by Béla Károlyi.
We’ve sectioned it out with this handy dandy timestamp guide so that you can queue up your favorite routine without spending too much time on the scanner. In case you were wondering, our favorite is absolutely that rhythmic gymnastics display, performed most appropriately to the theme from Chariots of Fire.
