Silicon Valley season 5 debuted last night, and the animated intro apparently took a timely jab at Facebook.
Some viewers noticed that the Facebook logo briefly changed in the intro, from English to what appeared to be Russian, though it was also pointed out that it is not Russian but random Cyrillic letters.

The show has always done this kind of gag, but the new season is debuting at a time when Facebook is under fire for its irresponsible handling of user data and CEO Mark Zuckerberg told CNN that he’s “sure someone’s trying” to meddle in the 2018 mid-term elections via Facebook, a “version two of whatever the Russian effort was in 2016.” It’s not clear which “version” of Russian meddling the intro is referring to.
