Model and celebrity tweeter Chrissy Teigen said goodbye to her English bulldog Puddy this week after the pup succumbed to some age-related health issues.

Puddy, named after David Puddy from Seinfeld because “they both shared a love of sitting and staring at nothing,” would have been 10 in May.

Teigen made the announcement on Instagram on Wednesday, explaining that the loss was particularly sentimental because she and husband John Legend got the dog together the first year they were dating. “I found the dog that would be there for us through every up, down, new house, new city, new tour, new travel. He welcomed new pups and loved on new babies and new bellies. He was there for everything,” she wrote.

Puddy is survived by his wife Pippa, Teigen’s French bulldog, who he married in 2015.

In November 2017, Puddy suffered from heart failure caused by a tumor. “[H]e’s basically a 70-year-old man beast but I am so happy to have him home right now,” Teigen had said on Twitter at the time. In recent days, Teigen had tweeted about putting Puddy on CBD oil to help curb some of his pain, and said that he seemed like a “much more comfortable bulldog” with the help of the medical cannabis. So in his final days, Puddy was super chilled out at home with his loved ones.

“I love you,” Teigen wrote Wednesday. “I will miss you every day.”

Puddy also leaves behind a human sister, Luna, and dog relatives Penny, Pooey, and Pepper.
