Set in New Orleans in 1968, the same year as the Vietnam War, Mafia III brings new depth to the open world action roots of the series.
The third installment is the first to sway from the typical mob story. Rather than focusing on Italian protagonists, you play Lincoln Clay, a black Vietnam vet seeking revenge on the Italian Mafia. He’s got just cause: they wiped out his surrogate family, the black mob. You must work on building a new criminal empire your own way by deciding who to reward and who to betray.
Now’s your chance to score the winner of the 2017 Herman Melville Award for Best Writing in a Game. Get Mafia III for $16.99 from the Daily Dot store (regularly $39.99).
