Generique, the redditor who spent the summer touring the world doing good deeds with other redditors, has “survived” his great journey. The 22-year-old is home and getting ready for his next semester of college classes, which start next week.

“Hey Reddit, I’ve had a crazy, crazy summer and have you guys to thank,” Generique posted to the subreddit r/AskReddit last night. “My travels brought me across the US and Canada, through rural Thailand, to Seoul and Sydney. Over the last three months I have met hundreds of reedits and gone on some cool adventures.”

Generique, who spoke with the Daily Dot about his journey in June, was able to go on such a lengthy trip thanks to a NonRev airline employee discount that afforded him free standby flights to anywhere in the world.

He visited countless redditors throughout but listed 28 visits in particular that really resonated. The list included washing redditor oliversmom’s car, helping a redditor move, meeting John the Translator, riding an elephant, and seeing “giant spiders in Australia.”

“Originally I was planning on traveling through till the end of July but surprise tooth ache had me grounded early,” Generique wrote. “I’ve been home for the last week, catching up on sleep and getting organized.

“I also donated the money I raised (via reddit) for filming costs since I managed to stay under budget all trip (mainly bylining off of the hospitality of redditors instead of staying in hostels).”

Generique closed by saying that he’s going to try to work with the airline to organize a similar trip next year, though he’ll try to make that one “something where you could vote on where to send me on a weak to week basis.”

In the meantime, he plans to turn the footage he accrued throughout his travels into a short documentary “or music video or something.”

He’ll host an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Sunday at 12pm PT.
