Update 2:47pm CT, Feb. 7: The Spice Girls have followed up that reunion photo with more news. According to TMZ, sources close to the group say a tour is being planned for the U.K., then the U.S., starting in summer 2018. There will also be “merchandising opportunities.”
…
Every year it seems like we get a whiff of a potential Spice Girls reunion, and now it’s apparently even closer to becoming reality.
Emma Bunton, aka Baby Spice, posted a photo to Instagram on Friday featuring all five members of the group, marking the first time in six years that they’ve all been photographed together. Her assertion that the “future is looking spicy” hints that the group might be working on something new—perhaps Spice World 2?
Melanie Chisholm, aka Sporty Spice, posted an alternate take.
So glad I got my hair done. I thought I was just popping round my mates for a cuppa! #Spiceworld Love my ladies ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ pic.twitter.com/pyGuPtJehj

A recent report claims the group might have gotten back together for non-musical purposes. Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, was reportedly the last hold out for a reunion but has asked that singing not be part of it, according to the Sun. She posted the photo as well, adding that #friendshipneverends.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly via Beckham’s publicist, it seems all but certain a reunion of some kind is happening:
We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together. We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls. The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together.
