The British singer and actress, who is expecting her second child, retweeted a message from a man named Harry Wilson on Tuesday. According to the Toronto Sun, the tweet apparently read, “All the best with your new family just seen you bought s**t I mean adopted a child from Africa.”

Allen asked how one reports abuse on Twitter, claiming that Wilson should be banned. She then contacted military personnel through the community, asking for action to be taken against Wilson. The British Army later confirmed that it was looking into the matter.

The incident did not end there, though. Allen, 27, then faced a deluge of criticism from other Twitter users. She retweeted many of the messages she received.

She retweeted some messages of support as well, while others pointed out that she had not been linked with adopting a child before Wilson’s tweet.

Following the incident, Wilson’s account was removed from Twitter.

Allen has had no shortage of trouble on Twitter. She invoked the ire of Piers Morgan after refusing to appear on one of his shows, and she was involved in a spat with fellow pop star Cheryl Cole.
