Maybe you should wait until you get back before you post your vacation news on Facebook.
The Anderson Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina announced Wednesday that they’d found a local woman who monitored her Facebook feed to learn when people would be out of town and then burglarized their homes.
Officers arrested Candace Ladreth, 39, as well as her partner, 44-year-old Robert Landreth Jr., on charges of burglary and grand larceny.
One victim, who claimed her house was robbed while she was away at the beach, said Ladreth had pulled the same stunt on at least three different people she knew from high school.
Ironically, Facebook also led to the Landreths’ speedy arrest.
After obtaining security footage from a local GameStop where Candace Landreth allegedly tried to fence stolen goods, police posted that video to their Facebook page. It was shared by 14 people.
The Candace Landreth was identified “within hours,” from the video, an Anderson Sheriff’s Office representative said.
