With the Cranberries, O’Riordan wrote and performed giant international hits in the ’90s like “Linger,” “Salvation,” and the enduring karaoke standard “Zombie.” The band from Limerick, Ireland has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide since forming in 1989.

O’Riordan’s last tweet came on Jan. 3 when she apparently left for London to record with her band D.A.R.K.
