Now that Australian parliament has officially legalized gay marriage, people around the world need some love like they never have before.

That’s because Calvin Harris made a pact with DJ Filip Odzak five years ago that if Australia legalized gay marriage, he would make a remix of the Spice Girls’ “2 Become 1.”

Just a few hours after the law passed, Odzak had already texted Harris to tell him that it’s time to get started. He shared the text on Twitter.

“During your appearance at Marquee in Sydney, while hanging backstage in the library bar, we made a deal – sealed with a handshake – that you would remix Spice Girls 2 Become 1 when marriage equality was finally legalised in Australia,” Odzak wrote. “Well it just happened today. For five years I’ve been waiting for this!”

Odzak also said he’s already been in touch with Emma Bunton (a.k.a Baby Spice) and she wants the remix, as well.

Harris and Spice Girls fans from all around the world have tweeted in support of the remix. It even became a top trend on Twitter in Australia.

Despite Odzak’s tweet becoming an overnight sensation, Harris has not yet commented about the remix.  Here’s hoping that Harris will be a man of his word.
