The news that a company funded by Google’s cofounders and James Cameron will attempt to mine asteroids for resources is a huge topic on Reddit this morning, as just about anyone could have guessed. Redditors are lining up to provide free, pseudonymous investment advice—exactly the kind most people should trust. “As soon as this company is publicly listed I think it’d be wise to invest!” aegler writes in a top-voted comment. “It could be the next big thing and precursor to an entirely new industry.” (/r/science)

What do you do when you have “a lot” of money left over from the giant home theater installation in your basement? Hire an artist to paint a mural of famous movie scenes on the back wall, of course. “The woman that painted it probably worked on it for a solid 2 years,” redditor Janake writes. “She had actually never seen many of the movies.” (/r/movies)

r/askscience occasionally allows AMAs with experts in a given field, and these threads are usually among the subreddit’s best. Yesterday’s featured two mathematicians and, while you might expect it to be filled with, equations, it’s not. Instead, it’s filled with discussions about math, and they’re really worth a read. HBO’s Game of Thrones is so popular on Reddit, that an AMA with an extra, whose only claim to fame is he got “farted on” in the most recent episode, is currently sitting at the top of r/IAmA. You’ll have to scroll down deep into the thread to find questions that are a variation on “fart jokes.” (/r/IAmA)

Far more interesting is this AMA with redditor TheMelarn, who suffers from Eisenmengers Syndrome. That probably doesn’t mean much to you, but his own headline sums up his situation nicely: “IAMA 16 year old with a hole in my heart and on a type of Viagra as medication.” (/r/IAmA)
