This woman with one arm has just won Tinder

Now this is how you do a witty Tinder bio.

Tinder one arm bio viral

There seem to be two predominant theories to writing a Tinder bio: Think way too hard and long about it, which usually shows, or get drunk and shoot off some margarita-inspired witticism, which also usually shows.

The latter worked for 20-year-old Lauren, though, who has since gone viral for what she says was addressing “the elephant in the room” in her profile. But unlike the dude who thought “boner hoarder” was funny at 1am, Lauren already had a solid sense of humor when she jumped on the app and started filling out her bio.

Lauren lost her arm in a moped accident last year, but was saved by a police officer who’d just thankfully had tourniquet training, she told BuzzFeed News.

“For a while, I wasn’t OK with the jokes,” she told the publication about suddenly being armless. “But then I started telling the jokes, and it’s kind of helped.”

Slowly, she posted more and more photos of herself online, many of which have gotten thousands of likes. “People don’t see that very often, so a lot of people DM me to tell me it’s really helpful to them, people who are also missing limbs or are disabled,” she said.

So she thought why not be upfront where doing so is a rarity but should be a necessity: Tinder. One night, she jumped on the app drunk, wrote she was an “arms dealer,” and described herself as:

Hands down the best catch on Tinder

face 10/10

body 9/10

personality 20/10

arms 1/2

And the internet was all about it.

The next day she said she woke up to her bio being posted on Reddit. But all the attention (and the tens of thousands of retweets) doesn’t mean she’s found anyone worthy of dating yet.

“I guess there were a couple guys that could keep up the banter, but most were annoying,” she told Refinery 29.
