Regardless of your opinion on Kim Kardashian, one thing remains indisputable: she takes great selfies. So great, in fact, that it may cost her.

On Monday, Hooshmand Harooni sued Kardashian’s company, Kimisaprincess Inc., for patent infringement over the illuminated LuMee phone case she endorses, ET reports. Harooni claims he patented an “Integrated Lighting Accessory and Case for a Mobile Phone Device” called Snaplight in April 2013, and that LuMee stole his idea. He’s suing for $100 million in lost profits.

“Despite having superior, patented products, it has been extremely difficult for Snaplight to compete in the selfie case market against Ms. West’s product influence and Defendants’ ongoing infringement,” court papers read.”Snaplight and Mr. Harooni have suffered financially as a result.” Harooni is also suing Urban Outfitters for distributing LuMee phone cases.

A representative for the Kardashians dismissed the claims in a statement to ET, calling the lawsuit “another attempted shakedown” and insisting that “Kim has done absolutely nothing wrong.”

Given the murkiness of patent laws and the strength of Kardashian’s legal team, it’s unlikely that she and husband Kanye West will have to cop a jet to fly over personal debt anytime soon.
