Birmingham and British Transport police are searching for two attackers of a 15-year-old girl. Both men, believed to be Asian and in their early twenties, attacked the teen separately, the second of them raping her after she flagged down his passing car for help.
According to CNN, the girl was walking into Witton train station with a friend when a man approached her, lured her to a secluded location, and raped her, sometime between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 2 a.m. Wednesday morning.
After the attack, the girl left the area and flagged down a car for help. A second man then sexually assaulted her after she got into the vehicle. She then reported the attacks to police once she got home.
Authorities are asking for potential witnesses to come forward and have retrieved CCTV recordings in the vicinity of the attacks, which they’re treating as two separate reports of rape.
“This was a horrifying ordeal for this young girl and we have specially trained officers supporting her,” Tony Fitzpatrick, a detective chief inspector from the British Transport Police, said in a statement. “It is now vitally important we investigate exactly what happened as well as identifying offenders for both of these awful incidents.”
