What would you do if your whole town flooded?
Would you stack shopping carts into a path to the grocery store? Would you “park” your bike by hanging it from a tree? Would you keep the family dog afloat with whatever is lying around? They’ve done all that and more in Thailand.
Just because it’s not currently making headlines in the Western world doesn’t mean Thailand isn’t experiencing some serious flooding. For the past three months, nearly one-third of Thailand’s 77 provinces have been facing a flooding crisis.
Thai Flood Hacks serves as a reminder of that—in the form of a Tumblr blog. The site showcases some serious Thai ingenuity in the face of catastrophe.
The Daily Dot has been unable to contact the blog’s curator, Thai Twitter user Jan (@bm_), but the 33 posts speak volumes, especially about the people on the front lines of the world’s latest natural disaster.
Most of the pictures on the blog are submissions, but the latest post is purportedly by Jan herself, a photo of her parents’ dog wearing a water-bottle life vest.
Sometimes a dog photo can be as strong of a crisis-indicator as media coverage.
