Moms are naturally prone to worrying about all facets of their children’s life. They wouldn’t be moms if they didn’t, and they especially wouldn’t be good moms if they didn’t.

So when Jeff Squires’ mom saw a notice about a missing dog that she thought reminded her of her son’s pup, she sent him a text, just to make sure that his dog hadn’t wandered off.

Great mom stuff, indeed. The only problem was that the dog she saw looked nothing like her son’s dog.

As people on Twitter pointed out, the similarities were practically nonexistent.

It was also noted that not only did Mom get the model of the dog wrong, she also messed up the make.

An honest mom mistake—after all, she probably sees the dog a lot less frequently than her son does—but a highly relatable one. My mom, for instance, still calls my new dog by my old dog’s name (I’ve had my new dog for over five years). Doesn’t mean she doesn’t care. And if she saw a missing dog on a Facebook page that looked even remotely like my dog—although I would act exasperated with her over the phone—deep down I would be happy.

Because you can’t be mad at a concerned mom. Not at all.
