As the saying goes, more money (and social media presence), more problems.
On Thursday, a Jacksonville, Florida man’s Facebook Live stream was interrupted by police officers who raided his home, just seconds after the man fanned his dollar bills to the camera.
According to Jacksonville Fox affiliate Action News Jax, officers arrested 22-year-old Breon Hollings after following through on a search warrant on his home. In an arrest report, officers said they found a handgun, ammunition, crack cocaine, oxycodone pills, and drug paraphernalia. Hollings faces four charges of possession.
In the video, which has since been taken down from Facebook, Hollings is seen counting and fanning cash, while saying he’s getting money. A minute into the original video, however, he looks up after hearing officers outside his home on a loudspeaker, announcing they have a search warrant.

Hollings’s neighbors told Action News Jax that police threw smoke grenades into the home, and it sounded like bombs exploding. After the noise heard around the 30 second mark of the video, officers can be seen searching Hollings’s room.
According to Jacksonville police, the livestream had nothing to do with the raid on Hollings’s home. Since they had a warrant to search, the raid had been preplanned. However, the news station’s crime and safety expert Ken Jefferson said he thinks the Facebook Live video could still hurt his case.
“In my more than 24 years of law enforcement, I have never seen anything like this ever,” Jefferson said. “That video can easily implicate him, particularly if he’s unemployed, and he’s flashing money … A person is on live video, fanning money, saying that it keeps on coming, it keeps on coming, but what they don’t realize is the police will keep on coming.”
