New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is one of the greatest players in NFL history, and to commemorate his standing, he’s been anointed as the cover boy for Madden NFL 18.

Which probably has every Patriots fan worried. Because if you know anything about the annual Madden cover, you know that real estate is cursed. Either the cover boy suffers a bad injury (Rob Gronkowski in 2017, Donovon McNabb in 2006), becomes a terrible player (Peyton Hillis in 2012, Vince Young in 2008), or suffers an injury which leads to him becoming a terrible player (Michael Vick in 2004).

So, it’s a bad deal for just about everybody who shows up on the cover.

But Brady isn’t worried. It’s not like he’s going to get popped again with a four-game suspension for Deflategate, and it’s not like the president is going to stop being friends with him. As for curses? Brady doesn’t believe in them.

As he showed in this video posted to his Facebook page.

If Brady does suffer a bad injury or his quality of play declines, it probably won’t have anything to do with the curse. It’ll be because, at 40 years old by the time next season starts, he’s ancient by NFL standards.
