One year after Beyoncé gave the world Lemonade, she’s celebrating by helping other women express themselves creatively
Per an announcement posted to her website Monday, Beyoncé is launching the “Formation Scholars,” which will award four scholarships to young women for the 2017-2018 academic school year in celebration of Lemonade’s anniversary. The scholarships are designed for women who are “unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident.”

There are limitations to the scholarships that Beyoncé is offering. For one, the Formation Scholars program is limited to four universities: Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, and Spelman College. According to the press release, the women who apply—which can include incoming students, current students, and graduate students—must be studying creative arts, literature, music, or African-American studies.
According to a spokeswoman from Berklee, the women appointed Formation Scholars will receive $25,000 apiece.
Anyone interesting in applying will need to contact the four respective universities for details and forms.
