Uber has banned a passenger who was recorded saying she would falsely accuse her driver of hitting and raping her in a video that has since gone viral.
In the nearly nine-minute-long video, the New York City Uber driver refuses to bring her to her destination or call the cops as she yells threats of false abuse accusations and expletives at him, at one point even telling him that President Donald Trump wants him out of the United States and to go back to his country. Though the driver said he would drop her off at her destination if she calmed down, he rescinded the offer once she said her boyfriend would have “something” waiting for him when they arrived.
“I’m going to start screaming out the window that you’re raping me, that you raped me… I will punch myself in the face and tell the cops you did it,” she said throughout the video. “Donald Trump going to send you and your family back. Get the fuck out of my country.”

It’s initially unclear why the pair are fighting or who started the fight, but is revealed at the end of the video that she lashed out because her phone was dead, and he didn’t have an iPhone charger for her, because he doesn’t own an iPhone. When she finally says she’ll leave his car, the passenger spills her bottle of juice on the floor behind the passenger seat.
In a statement released to New York Post, an Uber spokesperson called the passenger’s behavior unacceptable.
“As our Community Guidelines make clear, this will not be tolerated by anyone who uses Uber. The rider’s account has been banned and Uber is looking into this incident,” the statement read.
On Friday, the driver uploaded a follow-up video to YouTube explaining he had just left the Uber office with a bag full of phone chargers, and that Uber told him he would be financially compensated for the harassment. Though the driver appeared to explain his experience in the viral video by writing off all women as irrational (“Females,” he said dejectedly as she walked away from his car in the video), he said in his second video that not all women are like that.
He also explained that he’s a documented citizen, and warned other Uber drivers to invest in dashboard cameras, because, as evidenced by his viral video, driving strangers puts your life at risk.
“Get a dash cam, ’cause you never know when you’re gonna come across a dumb bitch,” he says.
