Actor Bill Paxton—who starred in blockbuster films like Twister, Aliens, and Titanic—has died at the age of 61, according to TMZ. The website reports Paxton died suddenly on Saturday after complications from surgery.
Paxton also had a successful career on TV, starring in HBO’s Big Love and CBS’s Training Day. He was interviewed earlier this month on the WTF podcast in which he talked about his obsession with John F. Kennedy—Paxton, as a young boy, was in attendance at a speech given on the same day Kennedy was assassinated—and his childhood bout with rheumatic fever.
“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery,” Paxton’s family said in a statement obtained by TMZ. “Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable.”
In one of his final interviews, you could see Paxton’s vitality and personality while appearing with James Corden.
The internet immediately paid tribute.
